The place which has a fascinating story behind its etymology. The literal meaning of the word is ‘the young daughter’s town’ derived from the fact that Chikmagalur was offered as a dowry to the younger daughter of the Chief of Sakrepatna, Rukmangada. Set against the backdrop of the majestic Mullayangiri ranges, Chikmagalur also happens to be the ‘Coffee Land of Karnataka’.

The serene environment is enriched with tea and coffee plantations, set in the backdrop of captivating cloudy hilltops at an elevation of 3,400 ft. Amidst the hills, away from the commercial and bustling cities, Chikmagalur is the perfect weekend getaway to escape to and be in the laps of nature. Whether you are a thrill enthusiast or a nature lover, there’s always something for you to do in the city. With numerous cascading waterfalls and the rugged terrain, go for a hike or take a dip in the waters, you will have plenty to explore.

Itinerary

Day 0Travel from Biryani Land to Coffee Land

We will start our journey to Chikmagalur by Sleeper Coach Train (Please have a light dinner. We don’t want you to starve!)
Next up? Good rest required for the big day in waiting.

Day 1Reach Base city,Start our Drive & Explore

Reach the Base City in the morning, freshen up, and have breakfast.
Drive towards Hebbe Falls and Off road Jeep ride to the Falls
Get back and start to Z point for some amazing hike to those famous Rolling hills of South.
Reach Z Point and hike up the hill and Spend some time at Summit with 360 degree valley views.
Check-In, refresh, and have a meal.
Spend some time discussing about the adventure of the past.
Fun, food, and music with long and deep conversations followed by a peaceful slumber.

Day 2Wake up, freshen up and Explore remaining places

Wake up, freshen up and have a healthy breakfast.
Drive to the base of Mullayannagiri, park our vehicles and hike up the hill.
Witness amazing views from the highest point of Karnataka, soak in the sun.
Cafe hopping (If time permits)
Start back to the base city & Board our train to Hyderabad (Enroute Dinner)

Cancellation Policy

No cancellations will be taken over call or whatsApp msg. Please reply in email with payment receipt that you have received at the time of booking.
No Show . No refund.
If remaining payment is not received 7 days before the event start date, Your slot is assumed to be cancelled.
Incase of government orders, harsh weather conditions , protests , landslides or any other unforeseen circumstances , we work out the best possible alternate plans or trips/treks. At times even certain activities are cancelled , the organisation provides the best alternate but no refunds are provided.
If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.), Offbeat Compass will issue a trek voucher for the full amount and if possible will provide an alternate trek. The voucher can be redeemed upto same amount for the same trek or another trek in the next 365 days from the trek departure date.
If a trek or trip cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.). No refund would be provided.
Any extra expense coming due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, Train Cancellations etc.), Will be born by customer. Offbeat Compass will not be liable.

REFUND POLICY

Initial Payment is NON-transferable and NON Refundable
If you cancel your trip 7 days before the event start date – a Trek Voucher worth 80% of the Remaining Payment Component would be given.
If you cancel your trip Between 7 to 3 days of the event Start date – a Trek Voucher worth 50% of the Remaining Payment Component would be given.
If you cancel your trip Between 2 days to 0 days – No Voucher or refund would be given.
All cancellations should be notified only VIA email to regadi@offbeatcompass.com
Refunds if any, would be settled on Wednesday, post-event date.

I am solo traveller,Can i join?

yes, you certainly can join. We often get many solo travelers on our trips and definitely you will find some likeminded people on the trip. Our objective is that we complete the trek/travel as a team. So, we always motivate people to come together and help each other.

How and when will your team coordinate with me?

We make a WhatsApp group of all the participants, besides, two days before the event and share all the necessary details in it.

When will I get trip/trek details?

Usually, An heads-up email with trip details such as things to carry, contact details of Trek Leaders, meeting details and the Do’s & don’ts will be communicated via both Email/WhatsApp within 3 days prior to the trip.

Are smoking and drinking allowed?

No, Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited.

I am first time trekker/traveler,Will the Trek/Travel be Difficult for Me?

We always believe in exploring our limits. Every Trek/Trip organized by Offbeat Compass would have Trek/Trip Captains, who would help you motivate you in difficult times on the trek/trip. Also, we have shared the itinerary in a form of a virtual trek/trip which would give you basic idea of the difficulty level of the trek/trip, which will help you in decision making.

I am Women/Girl.Is the Trek/Trip safe for Me?

Yes, We always make sure that we take proper precaution in regards of girl’s safety. We have female Trek/Trip Captains who have explored every trek/trip, Offbeat Compass has, in regards of the facilities, sanity and safety of a female trekkers/travelers.

We require a minimum of 5 participant to confirm the event
If in case, we fail to obtain the required minimum number of participants. We would initiate full refund or transfer to another event for the same departure date. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any)

Can you tell us about Accommodation?

We will be staying just beside the main temple and in the vicinity of Hampi town to soak in the culture of vibrant Hampi.
