Backpacking to KERALA Overview

Welcome to an extraordinary expedition through the picturesque landscapes of Kerala, where every moment is a celebration of natural beauty and cultural heritage! Our exclusive 4-day itinerary invites you to uncover the best of Kerala’s treasures, from the misty hills of Munnar to the tranquil backwaters of Alleppey.

ITINERARY (Cochin - Cochin)

DAY 01ARRIVAL IN COCHIN. TRANSFER TO MUNNAR.

Pick up from Cochin Airport or Railway Station.
Proceed towards Munnar(140 km / 4.30 hrs) through scenic routes
Visit the Spice Plantation en route.
Stop at the stunning Cheeyappara Waterfalls, Valara
Waterfalls (seasonal), Karadippara Viewpoint, and enjoy the view of
lush Tea Gardens.
Optional adventure: Zip Lining for a thrilling experience.
Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel in Munnar.
Overnight stay in Munnar.

DAY 02LOCAL SIGHTSEEING IN MUNNAR.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel.
Enjoy a full day exploring Munnar, including Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake,
and Echo Point.
In the afternoon, visit Eravikulam National Park (Note: Closed during Feb/Mar).
In the evening, explore the Tea Factory, Tea Gardens, Rose Garden, Blossom
Park, and the Tea Museum (closed on Mondays).
Overnight stay in Munnar

DAY 03 MUNNAR TO ALLEPPEY. ENJOY THE SERENE BACKWATERS.

The drive from Munnar to Alleppey would take 5 hrs.
Hence suggest starting by 8 am to board the houseboat by 12 – 1 pm.
Houseboat will be stopped for lunch for 1hrs with the cruise till 5:30 pm.
The boat will be anchored till the next day morning,with a 1-hour cruise in the
morning for check out at 9 am.
In the houseboat, you will be greeted with a welcome drink, tea, snacks, mineral
water, lunch, dinner, and breakfast

Day 4DEPARTURE. ALLEPPEY TO KOCHI.

• Have your breakfast at the hotel and get ready to board your return transfers to
Cochin.
• Your tour concludes once you are dropped off at Cochin Airport/ Railway Station
for your onward journey. (Your departure flight/ train should be after 1 pm).
• Depart with a bag of happy memories

In case your trip remains incomplete or uninitiated because of "force majeure" or due to personal reasons after you arrive at the starting point, you will not be able to get a refund, reschedule or replace any services that remain unutilized by you.
Any additional cost incurred due to changes in Government Guidelines related to travel/trek/COVID-19 will be borne by the travellers
Anything not mentioned explicitly in the above program.
Additional Costs due to Flight Cancellations, Landslides, Roadblocks, and other natural calamities.

Cancellation Policy

No cancellations will be taken over call or whatsApp msg. Please reply in email with payment receipt that you have received at the time of booking.
No Show . No refund.
If remaining payment is not received 7 days before the event start date, Your slot is assumed to be cancelled.
Incase of government orders, harsh weather conditions , protests , landslides or any other unforeseen circumstances , we work out the best possible alternate plans or trips/treks. At times even certain activities are cancelled , the organisation provides the best alternate but no refunds are provided.
If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.), Offbeat Compass will issue a trek voucher for the full amount and if possible will provide an alternate trek. The voucher can be redeemed upto same amount for the same trek or another trek in the next 365 days from the trek departure date.
If a trek or trip cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.). No refund would be provided.
Any extra expense coming due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, Train Cancellations etc.), Will be beared by customer. Offbeat Compass will not be liable.

REFUND POLICY

30 days or more prior to the departure date: 90% of the total package fee refundable
Between 21-30 days prior to the departure date: 60% of the total package fee refundable
Between 20-11 days prior to the departure date: 30% of the total package fee refundable
Less than 10 days prior to the departure date: No refund
No show: No refund
No refund will be made if a participant is unable to complete the tour/trek/adventure activity owing to medical conditions or any other reasons, after starting the tour/trek/adventure activity

Is this trip for me?

If you are crazily in love with rugged backpacking, then Meghalaya Itinerary is meant for you. If you have never felt how driving through the world’s most treacherous road and standing on the world’s highest inhabited village feels, then this trip is for you.

Is there any trekking involved in the trip?

Yes, There is trekking involved in this trip. We need physical ability to reach to Rainbow waterfalls and back. If you are not interested in the trek, you can take it as a leisure day.

What is the maximum altitude we will hit?

5000 ft.

What about the level of physical fitness?

A person with reasonable fitness can join the group.

I am Women/Girl.Is the Trek/Trip safe for Me?

Yes, We always make sure that we take proper precaution in regards of girl’s safety. We have female Trek/Trip Captains who have explored every trek/trip, Offbeat Compass has, in regards of the facilities, sanity and safety of a female trekkers/travelers.
