Harishchandragad Trek Overview

Harishchandragad is outstanding. Here’s why?

Standing at an altitude of 4665 feet from Sea Level, Harishchandragad is one of few treks which is considered to be the pride of Sahyadri’s for trekkers. Its unique trail and multiple ways to reach the zenith attract all kinds of trekkers, From Novice to Expert.

Harishchandragad Fort dates back to the 6th Century and played a major role in history in safeguarding the surrounding areas. Caves are the main attraction of this place and they are believed to be carved in the 11th Century. Unlike many treks and trails, upon reaching the top we have multiple places to visit which makes us wonder about these gigantic mountains and hidden gems in them. Kedareshwar Cave, Konkan Kada, Taramathi Peak, Harishchandreshwar temple, and pushkarani are few to name.

It is not an extremely difficult trek and can be done by beginners with little or no discomfort.

Aadrai Jungle Trek nowadays is one of the most popular treks in the rainy season. Aadrai trek starts with a forest trail towards a Beautiful Valley which takes almost 2 hours to reach the ending point of Trek. You can enjoy the Kalu waterfall & panoramic view of Malshej Ghat and an awesome view of Harishchandragad, Konkankada. The route of Aadrai trek is a pleasurable walk through a deep forest, crossing Streams, waterfalls. Trekking through dense forest and with a number of waterfalls on the way will definitely replenish you! One can surely enjoy this Adventurous Aadrai Trek in the monsoon.

Itinerary

Day 0The night before the big day!!!

  • We will start our journey to Pune by Train (Please have a light dinner. We don’t want
    you to starve!)
  • Our trek captains will keep you engaged with a fun ice breaker session, a great way to
    bond with your fellow trekkers.
  • Next up? Good rest required for the adventure in waiting

 

BOARDING POINTS : CHARLAPALLI @ 20:20 | LINGAMPALLI @ 21:00

NOTE : Reserve your slots in advance by paying nominal amount,To get a confirmed Tickets and Those who are joining us in the last moment need to bare Tatkal charges/Opt for Bus.

 

Day 1Reach base city and Drive towards foothills of Harishchandragad

  • We wake up to the sounds of Morning Chimes  and reach Pune.
  • As we reach base city, We have a quick breakfast and start our journey to Trek start point.
    Brunch en-route and we reach Trek Start point.
  • With all instructions from our captain, We start the trek to Kalu waterfalls base which is 05 Kms from the trek start point.
  •  Later,Start to Base Village Get Refresh yourself and Have Yummy Village Food.
  • Check-in to our Home stay.

 

Note:Entry to the actual base of waterfall depends on the water levels and forest department.Sometimes due to heavy waterflow entry is restricted.

Day 2Hike to Harishchandragad,Kedareshwar Caves and Saptatirtha Pushkarni

  • Wake up before Rooster and set a mood to hike to Mighty Harishchandragad (Kireshwar Route)
  • Relax and explore Harishchandragad, Kedareshwar Caves, Saptatirtha Pushkarni
  • After exploring,Have lunch and descend hike to base village and Check-into out Home stay
  • Later the evening, reach base village and explore the scenic place with mountains all around. 
  • Have dinner & Sleep for the night.

Trek Route : Kireshwar

Day 3Explore Malshej Ghat & Return Back to Pune

  • Wake up early and Get Freshen-up & Check-Out from our stay. 
  • Get into our vehicle and Drive towards Malshejghat,Explore multiple waterfalls.
  • Start back to Pune Railway station. 
  • Start return journey towards Hyderabad says goodbye to the heaven.

Day 4Reach Hyderabad in the morning with amazing memories

  • Trip ends today, sadly. We will reach Hyderabad with beautiful memories and friendships.

Cancellation Policy

  • No cancellations will be taken over call or whatsApp msg. Please reply in email with payment receipt that you have received at the time of booking.
  • No Show . No refund.
  • If remaining payment is not received 7 days before  the event start date, Your slot is assumed to be cancelled. 
  • Incase of government orders, harsh weather conditions , protests , landslides or any other unforeseen circumstances , we work out the best possible alternate plans or trips/treks. At times even certain activities are cancelled , the organisation provides the best alternate but no refunds are provided.
  • If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.), Offbeat Compass will issue a trek voucher for the full amount and if possible will provide an alternate trek. The voucher can be redeemed upto same amount for the same trek or another trek in the next 365 days from the trek departure date.
  • If a trek or trip cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.). No refund would be provided.
  • Any extra expense coming due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, Train Cancellations etc.), Will be beared by customer. Offbeat Compass will not be liable.

REFUND POLICY

  • Initial Payment is NON transferable and NON Refundable
  • If you cancel your trip 7 days before the event start date – Trek Voucher worth 80% of the Remaining Payment Component would be given.
  • If you cancel your trip Between 7 to 3 days of the event Start date – Trek Voucher worth 50% of the Remaining Payment Component would be given.
  • If you cancel your trip Between 2 days to 0 days – No Voucher or refund would be given.
  • All cancellations should be notified only VIA email to regadi@offbeatcompass.com
  • Refunds if any would be settled on Wednesday, post-event date. 

FAQS

I am solo traveller,Can i join?

yes, you certainly can join. We often get many solo trekker/traveler on our trips and definitely you will find some likeminded people on the trip. Our objective is that we complete the trek/travel as a team. So, we always motivate people to come together and help each other.

How and when will your team coordinate with me?

We make a WhatsApp group of all the participants, besides, two days before the event and share all the necessary details in it.

When will I get trip/trek details?

Usually, An heads-up email with trip details such as things to carry, contact details of Trek Leaders, meeting details and the Do’s & don’ts will be communicated via both Email/WhatsApp within 3 days prior to the trip.

Are smoking and drinking allowed?

No, Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited.

I am first time trekker/traveler,Will the Trek/Travel be Difficult for Me?

We always believe in exploring our limits. Every Trek/Trip organized by Offbeat Compass would have Trek/Trip Captains, who would help you motivate you in difficult times on the trek/trip. Also, we have shared the itinerary in a form of a virtual trek/trip which would give you basic idea of the difficulty level of the trek/trip, which will help you in decision making.

I am Women/Girl.Is the Trek/Trip safe for Me?

Yes, We always make sure that we take proper precaution in regards of girl’s safety. We have female Trek/Trip Captains who have explored every trek/trip, Offbeat Compass has, in regards of the facilities, sanity and safety of a female trekkers/travelers.

Group Size?

  • 5 to 17 Members 
  • We require a minimum of 5 participant to confirm the event 
  • If in case, we fail to obtain the required minimum number of participants. We would initiate full refund or transfer to another event for the same departure date. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any) 

Can you tell us about Accommodation?

Depending on the availability- Dormitories: Ideally a big room where people sleep in sleeping bags/Blankets (Mats are provided) . There will be separate rooms for girls and guys.

Washrooms:  Yes, Available at Home Stay. Please note: it’s a place in the middle of nowhere, so during the trek, NO restrooms are accessible (one has to be dependent on natural resources).
