The journey to Kedarnath from Haridwar is an adventure in itself, offering scenic views, natural hot springs, and a challenging trek to reach the holy town. The journey starts with a drive from Haridwar to Guptkashi, where you can witness the holy town of Devprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers, and take in the stunning views of the rivers meeting.

The 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is a challenging one, but the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys make it all worthwhile. ITINERARY

DAY 1 : FridayStart to Delhi

Start from Hyderabad early in the morning by Train.
It is just the start of Epic trip of life time

* Please make sure, you reserve your slots well in advance as train tickets are always subject to availability. Book early and travel Hassle free. If you wish to opt for 3AC / 2AC let us know in advance so that we can book it for you and we collect only difference fare.

DAY 2 : SaturdayDelhi to Haridwar overnight by bus( 230 km /5 hours)

Reach Delhi in the Morning.
Explore Delhi and around (Self sponsored)
Board bus from Delhi (Majnu ka tilla) at 10 PM to Haridwar

DAY 3 : Sunday Haridwar to Sonprayag

The journey to the Sonprayag starts early in the morning.
We board our vehicle, and set out our way to Kedarnath from here.
We pass through from the beautiful and wonderful villages on the mountain.
We reach Sonprayag by Evening and Check-In to our Hotel.
Explore the place in the evening and rest awaiting the big and most rewarding day.

DAY 4 : MondaySonprayag - Gaurikund to Kedarnath Trek

Here comes the most awaited day of this complete journey where we get to witness the mighty temple amidst the snow capped mountains.

Trek distance: 17 km
Trek time: 8 to 10 hours

We start very early to Gaurikund which is a 5km journey by Sumos / local vehicles from where our trek of 16km starts.
This trek here is the most rewarding one. Though we need physical fitness to trek this path, Mental fitness too is very important. We can opt for other sources like Doli service on the trail if you are not able to make it by walk.
We reach the temple arena by evening and check-in to stay.
Freshen-up and visit the temple for Darshan.
Post which we explore the surroundings and head back to stay before it gets too cold.

DAY 5 : TuesdayKedarnath Temple Visit - Sonprayag - Chopta

Be ready to the witness the magical sun rise by the holy shrine of Kedarnath early in the morning.
Post Sunrise, we will have our breakfast, explore and start descending to Gaurikund.
Reach Gaurikund by evening and Later drive for Chopta (It will take 2.5-3 hours to reach Chopta)
On Arrival at Chopta check-in the Camps and overnight stay.

DAY 6 : WednesdayTrek to Tungnath & Return to Chopta

We will start trek toward Tungnath Temple in the Early Morning.
Tungnath is the hightest temple of Loard Shiva. Tungnath is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the Rudraprayag district, in Uttarakhand. It is located at an altitude of 3,680 m (12,073 ft).
After visiting the Tungnath Temple we will return back to Chopta. Night stay will be at Chopta.

Day 7 : ThursdayJourney back to Haridwar

We start early in the morning back to Haridwar through the same scenic path.
Upon Reaching Haridwar , we take train / Bus to Delhi.

DAY 8 : FridayReach Delhi and start to Hyderabad

Cancellation Policy

No cancellations will be taken over call or whatsApp msg. Please reply in email with payment receipt that you have received at the time of booking.

If remaining payment is not received 7 days before the event start date, Your slot is assumed to be cancelled.
Incase of government orders, harsh weather conditions , protests , landslides or any other unforeseen circumstances , we work out the best possible alternate plans or trips/treks. At times even certain activities are cancelled , the organisation provides the best alternate but no refunds are provided.
If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.), Offbeat Compass will issue a trek voucher for the full amount and if possible will provide an alternate trek. The voucher can be redeemed upto same amount for the same trek or another trek in the next 365 days from the trek departure date.
If a trek or trip cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc.). No refund would be provided.
Any extra expense coming due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, Train Cancellations etc.), Will be beared by customer. Offbeat Compass will not be liable.

Which is the best time to visit Kedarnath?

The best and ideal time for visiting Kedarnath Dham is from April month when upon the arrival of Akshay Tritiya the entryway of the sanctuary opens. So from April to May and again from September to October and after October when the Bhai Dooj/Dwitiya celebration is on set this is the point at which the entryway of the sanctuary shuts once more. While in the middle of this current month sanctuary stays open yet because of precipitation in June and July because of the avalanche, yatra gets uneasy.

How long is the Kedarnath trek and how can it be covered?

Trekking for Kedarnath Dham begins from Gaurikund which is very nearly 16 km of distance.

What about the level of physical fitness?

A person with reasonable fitness can join the group.
